Happy Holiday Season!

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Here is a little Christmas history - Saint Nicholas or Santa Claus was originally portrayed wearing bishop’s robes, today Santa Claus is generally depicted as a plump, jolly, white-bearded man wearing a red coat with white collar and cuffs, white-cuffed red trousers, and black leather belt and boots. This image became popular in the United States and Canada in the 19th century due to the significant influence of caricaturist and political cartoonist Thomas Nast. This image has been maintained and reinforced through song, radio, television, and films. In the United Kingdom and Europe, his depiction is often identical to the American Santa, but he is commonly called Father Christmas. (source Wikipedia)

Just a little Christmas knowledge to get you in the festive season!  I wish all of you a very safe and happy holiday season and may 2010 bring you health, happiness and prosperity!

Adding Signature in Gmail

Friday, December 11th, 2009

I find gmail as a fantastic platform for emailing, however the signature option needs more flexibility.  I recently discovered a very simple way to add flexibility to your gmail signature.  There is an add-on in Firefox that you can download that allows you to add flexibility to your signature…like adding links to your social media sites or links to your specific web pages. I hope you find this useful - as I did!

YouTube Video Tip

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

For those of you that are newbies to YouTube and would like to learn more of how this great tool works then I have something to share with you.  Okay lets get started, here is a little tip when viewing videos from YouTube. You may come across a scenario that requires you to have a YouTube video appear in its own popup window rather than the YouTube website.  It is very simple…

When you are on the YouTube website and viewing a video, there are two icons on the top right of the video.  Click on the second icon that looks like an arrow pointing towards the corner of your screen, which is says “Watch this video in a new screen”.  Once you do this it will appear in a popup window, then all you need to do is copy the URL that is located in the address bar of the popup window and you are ready to use this video where ever you need to.  See it is really just as simple as that.  Until next time!
